The Design Process

As a client of Emily Sarkis Designs, you'll collaborate directly with Emily to design or redesign your website. This guided 4-step process is customized to use your time efficiently. The project timeline depends on the scope of your project.

The 4-step process is outlined below:

1) Research:

The first step in the website redesign process includes defining the clients problems and goals. This includes:

2) Initial Designs:

With the defined website goals and understanding of client's aesthetics, multiple design mockups are created. The designs include user interface design best practices to make the site not just visually appealing but easy and intuitive. Navigation should be clear and efficient. Designs are also created keeping in mind multiple major browsers and what can be implemented across multiple browsers - not just one. Something might look cool in I.E. but it's useless if others can't view it in Firefox.

3) Working Designs:

The client decides which design they want to move forward with and provides feedback as to tweaks that they would like changed. The working design will be edited and a final design will be ready. After the client signs off on the final design and provides all applicable content, the development begins.

4) Final Design:

The website is then implemented using web development best practices. Likewise, the site is developed in a manner that makes it easily crawable to search engines. The completed website is available for testing on a password protected site. Upon final sign off, the website goes live!

Moving Beyond the Web:

To maximize the effect of cross-channel branding, many clients choose to incorporate their new web design into marketing collateral from brochures to advertisements. The same look helps reinforce the brand and builds visual recognition.

Maintenance:

Web site maintenance can be added on to the project either at the time of the project or at a later date. This includes adding new content or editing existing content.

The process above demonstrates how a website is successfully designed. The process is efficient and effective for all parties, enabling the client to go live with their new website sooner, rather than later.
